Wiley and Karon were born into Christian families and both accepted Christ at the age of thirteen.

After graduation from medical school at Uniformed Services University in Bethesda, MD, Wiley served as an Army physician for twenty years with tours in Germany and Kuwait. He has been a participant in and leader of short-term medical mission projects in Romania, Ukraine and Belize. Karon earned her bachelor's degree in art from Auburn University. She has been a children's Sunday School teacher and leader of adult women's bible study.

As director and physician at Presbyterian Medical Clinic in Patachakan Village, Belize, Wiley's medical ministry is threefold: 1) medical care for the Belizeans, 2) evangelism and Christian growth for the clinic's patients, and 3) coordination of medical missions in Belize. In addition to caring for their four children, Karon ministers in the areas of family care, friendship evangelism and hospitality.
