Steve and Nancy spent 15 years in the business world. In 1977 God touched their hearts through the birth of their third child, David, who was born with an open spine, and they came to know the Lord as Savior. Later God gave them a sense of direction toward world missions. They soon discovered a need for qualified support people to assist in bringing the gospel of Christ to un-reached people groups. They have committed to filling part of that support needÑSteve in administration, and Nancy in secretarial work.
From 1986 to 2002 Steve and his wife served with Wycliffe Bible Translators (WTB) in Peru in various administrative roles. During that time their three children married and are now independent.
In 2002, Steve was asked to change assignment. Wycliffe, International is charged with overseeing the various Wycliffe organizations and managing ministries that don't fit easily into any one part of the family of organizations. A new strategy, chronological Bible storying, is one of those. Steve is part of a team focused on using this strategy to introduce the Gospel to un-reached or Bibleless people groups around the world. Wycliffe is working in partnership with four other major mission organizations using this strategy to finish the task of reaching the un-reached with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He will be working from the U.S. focusing on administration of storying projects, recruiting young people for the task and training/mentoring/coaching them through the project.
