The Craig's Update
News for Friends, Family, and Partners

Dear Praying Friends,
Is it really the middle of July already? The weeks seem to be flying by with half the summer gone, we are approaching the home stretch. Let me try to briefly bring you up to date since our last letter. After finishing up some last minute visits to churches Steve and I were able to successfully deliver most of our belongings to a storage unit in New Jersey. We left El Paso and arrived in New Jersey four days later. Steve is staying in New Jersey with Kathy’s brother who graciously offered to not only watch over Steve but also take in Steve’s dog Lucky, did I mention Lucky also made the trip in the cab of the moving truck? Because our house had not yet sold in El Paso Kathy and Jeffrey have remained there waiting for the Lord’s timing as to when the future owner of our house would come and purchase it.
Upon returning to El Paso for a brief 24-hour visit I quickly gathered my things and left for Monterrey Mexico. I joined the missionaries in Monterrey hosting a team from South Carolina whose objective was to renovate the new Mission to the World offices and home to the Theological Institute facility in Monterrey
That team arrived on May 26th, now some 8 weeks later I am back at the Monterrey airport waiting for my return flight to Ciudad Juarez. Much has transpired in those 8 weeks, God has been working through many faithful servants, both Mexican and American, here in Northern Mexico.
We have been assisting our Mexican brothers and sisters in Christ through various construction projects and VBS assistance. We constructed walls, installed cabinets and doorways in La Casa de Dios in San Nicolas. During two weeks in Ciudad Victoria, we painted the exterior church building, recoated the metal roof above the sanctuary and assisted in preparing for their VBS. VBS here is a church wide event staging skits and dramas. The church members told the group from PA they would not have completed all the needed work without their help. The second week in Victoria was spent at the Christian school. This group from GA and NC were able to assemble, stain and varnish new desks for the school, a much needed item! The painted classrooms and some exterior walls along with laying the foundation for the new classrooms needed for the growing student population.
This last week brought some familiar faces from Indianapolis to help Prince of Peace church pour a new concrete floor in their sanctuary. They were also able to help in the VBS each morning with the Prince of Peace church members. As I mentioned I am returning to El Paso today. Our house has sold, Praise the Lord and with a break in teams, providence of God, I am heading back to pack up our remaining belongings. After settlement this week Kathy and Jeffrey will be driving with me to Monterrey. We will be staying a few weeks to help with the summer teams and then we will head up to NJ.
As we are preparing to send this letter our settlement has been postponed from the 19th till …, we are praying that it will be later today otherwise I will drive out and Kathy will have to fly to Monterrey next week. We are continually being reminded of 1 Peter 5:7 “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you”. Please pray that we can maintain our testimony and wait patiently on the Lord. Scott is packing up the truck as I add this note.
Thanks for your continued prayers and financial support ~ it is our hope to raise the remaining 30% of our support and return to Monterrey full time by the spring of 2008 ready to go!
In Him,
Scott Craig
