We have just received our new prayer cards if you would like one just email us your address.
“And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as Savior of the world” 1 John 4:14
Dear Praying Friends,
To quote the famous Yankee catcher, Yogi Berra “seems like deja vue all over again” Once again I am writing this update while sitting on an airplane waiting to take off for El Paso. The last time I was at Phoenix’s Sky Harbor Airport, and now I am in Maryland at Baltimore Washington International Airport.
Thanks for your continued prayers - the Lord has been opening doors for us. After attending a mission conference in Arkansas, I headed to Monterrey, MX where I had the privilege of working with a team from Bethel PCA in Clover, SC.
We spent the week working with Casa de Dios, one of the five church plants in Monterrey. They are currently renting a store in the northwestern part of the city. It’s amazing what a little hard work and a lot of paint can do in transforming an old neglected building.
On Friday we were putting the finishing touches on the new worship area just in time to host a Vision Trip group for dinner. Esau, the church planter of Casa de Dios, would be making his presentation to the Vision trip group before the dinner that evening.
I stayed the weekend so I could attend the Vision Trip and gain a better understanding of all that God is doing through the efforts of the MTW Northern Mexico Church Planting Team.
With only 3 days to show and share all that has and will be happening in Northern Mexico there was little down time. Each church planter had an opportunity to share how God had called him to ministry, how God has been working through the ministry, and where he felt God was leading the ministry.
The main focus of the Northern Mexico team is church planting and the vision for now is to have 2 churches and 2 ministries in each of the 27 largest cities located in northern Mexico. Currently they have 5 church plants and a seminary in Monterrey, and they are also working along side a Christian school in Ciudad Victoria. Last summer Kathy & I had an opportunity to serve with the first daughter church in Saltillo, about 45 minutes southwest of Monterrey. They will soon begin a work in their fourth city, the city of Tampico.
When contemplating all that needs doing, it is quite overwhelming, but we know we serve a great God capable of doing over and above all we could ask. We are called to testify of Him! Please continue to pray and partner with us as we seek to do just that on our way to, and in Northern Mexico. If you or your missions committee are interested in attending the next visions trip in September let us know.
I will have the privilege of visiting Metrocrest in Carrollton on Easter Sunday. Next Wednesday I will head to Monterrey to participate in a mini vision trip with Twin Oaks church and on the way back a pit stop in Dallas to meet 2 men from Park Cities PCA. When I return back to El Paso, we will be putting our house up for sale with plans to head to Monterrey for the summer. After that, we will head back to our home community in NJ to finish raising the 40% of support we need before we can return to Monterrey to stay. It has been 5 years since we left NJ, and we look forward to the time of fellowship. Please continue to pray for Jeffrey and Steve. Steve will be finishing his Jr. Year this spring. We haven’t even left yet and Jeffrey is already missing his friends. Please pray for a quick sale of our house as we would like to be in Monterrey by May 26th for the first team. Please also pray for us during the packing and support raising that we would keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, and we would trust his plans.
Until the Whole World Knows,
Scott & Kathy Craig
