Rich and Lori began their years of ministry working with students. Lori worked with college students as a part of Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship. Rich served on the church staff of Tenth Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia and Village Seven Presbyterian Church in Colorado Springs. While serving in churches, Rich led nine short-term mission trips.

Rich and Lori first served as missionaries in the Philippines. Rich was responsible for training and mentoring Filipino church planters. He was the team leader for the last two years. After returning from the Philippines Rich assisted in Mexico in the area of training and coaching national leaders. He was also involved in the initial efforts for Global Training and Development (the training arm of MTW).

As the regional director for Central America and the Caribbean, Rich is involved in numerous activities in the region, such as providing spiritual care and encouragement for the leaders and keeping teams focused on their vision and goals. He also seeks new ministry opportunities and mobilizes others to pray for the ministries in the region.
