![]() Greetings from the Montags
September 2, 2005 Our dear praying friends, The suitcases have been busy again! Two days ago we returned from three weeks in the US for our son's wedding and visits with him and our daughter. Dan and Jenny's wedding was perfect and we feel so blessed to see him part of her warm and loving family. The time was just wonderful and we are deeply grateful to have had this opportunity. Before leaving for our US visit, we gathered together the supplies we will need for our upcoming trip to the Kashinawa village of Nueva Luz and packed and sent most of them out to Esperanza. So although there still have been a lot of errands to take care of, we are enjoying getting ready rather peacefully to leave next week for this trip. It has been nice to be able to have meals with some friends and again share in their lives. The six days we will have in Pucallpa are passing quickly, and I remain "super-glued" to the computer as I take care of many projects and try to catch up with correspondence. The Brazilian New Testament has still not arrived from the printer and the delivery details are still in process. Our plans towards publishing the two editions of the "Old Testament Selected Portions" seem to be progressing well but many details will have to be worked out along the way. It is hard to leave e-mail contact for months at a time and not know how things are moving along. We plan to have a translation stay of two months in Nueva Luz and then a trip to Lima for checking with our translation consultant, and then one more translation stay in Nueva Luz and another consultant check in Lima. Then we will be finished with the basic preparation of the "Old Testament Selected Portions". Next will be a time with some Brazilian "Kaxinawís" coming to Nueva Luz to finalize the Brazilian edition, and then manuscript preparation for publication. Will we be busy? I guess so! But we are daily grateful for God's daily strengthening and guidance, and for His preparation of our paths. There is nothing we would rather be doing, and this remains a constant joy and source of praise for us. We thank you for your faithful prayers for us and your financial support. I wish this were a personal note to each of you, but as we pray for you, the Lord brings you close to us and by that closeness we are able to intercede for you in love. Please continue to remember our spiritual needs and those of our co-translators Roberto, Waldemar, Tufí, and Edmundo and their families as we work to do the best job in translation that the Lord enables us to do. Also ask Him to protect us from the attacks of Satan, for the evil one does not want this translation to be completed. Pray also for the Kashinawa church to continue to grow in grace and in their commitment to share their faith with their unevangelized relatives in Brazil. We rejoice in God's all-sufficiency in our lives. He is totally faithful in providing all He wants us to have as we do what He has set before us.
Rejoicing in Christ with you, |
