Thanksgiving is a time in which we come together as families and we are encouraged to give thanks. As Christians God gives us that encouragment as a daily lifestyle "always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ" (Eph.5:20). Our thankfulness is grounded on the character of God - "We give thanks to you, Lord God Almighty, the One who is and who was, because you have taken your great power and have begun to reign" (Rev. 11:17), and it shapes our focus in life giving us a healthy and joyful perspective - "The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song" (Psalm 28:7).

We thank God for the multiplying effect our training is having among hundreds of Hispanic church leaders throughout the world:

I will be reporting in detail in the next letters about these Hispanic missionaries we are training: Darío González, a missionary from El Salvador who is planting churches and training leaders in Brosov, Rumania, and .

Lisbeth Dame, a missionary from Guatemala who is training leaders with her husband in Bolivia.

Both of them, like most of our students, are taking my courses in pastoral psychology and training their leaders with them. They report that their students are very happy with our materials and that they are being edified with them.

We give thanks for giving us three grandchildren in the past year and a half:

Our latest grandchild, Makani Joseph Cogliandro Joe, Janette, Tasanee, Makani

, was born to Joe and Janette on August 27.

Sofía is now 10 months old:

We are enjoying Sofía and family during this Thanksgiving, and we look forward to having both families in Miami for Christmas.

We have been encouraged by you, our partners in ministry. Thank you for your faithfull support in prayer and financially. Our need has been reduced substantially in the past year. We have enjoyed getting to know many of you as we report personally in our trips to you.
