Crane Family news - November 13, 2006
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ:
This summer of
2006 has been a very eventful and emotional time in our family, with much
to share. We are very grateful to you for your faithful support and
encouragement to us. We are especially thankful for keeping us in
your prayers.
Before more time goes by, let me give you a quick rundown on what has
happened in our family:
1. As most of you know, my mother (Barbara Crane) passed
away on June 4. We were very encouraged by so many E-mails giving
testimony to Mom and Dad´s love and effective ministry over so many
years. I have attached a tribute to them written by Sarah Lambert
(I have also attached my letter for those of you who did not receive the
news at the time). Thank you for your prayers and
encouragement.
2. Susana graduated from Covenant College on May 6.
She graduated with honors obtaining a BA in Psychology. We are very
proud of her achievements. Her graduation makes her the 9th
Crane-related graduate from Covenant College (Frank and Joy and their
daughter Charlotte, my sister Ruth, Richard and Robyn, Janette and Joe
Cogliandro, and Susana. Jonathan Tucker, Susana´s husband was also
at Covenant for two years).
3. On July 23, Susana married Jonathan Tucker and we
are now blessed with another son. Jonathan is the son of Eric and
Conchita Tucker who live in Tampa. Some of you may know them since
they used to be Mission to the World missionaries in Ecuador and
Mexico. Susana and Jonathan met at an MTW missionary retreat a few
years ago in Marco Island, FL, and their relationship grew during their
two years together at Covenant College. The wedding was here in
Miami and we enjoyed the grand celebration and family gathering.
You may see the photos of the wedding at the following site:
http://www.jc2photo.com/darkroom/share/?client/susana (Joe
Cogliandro - Janette´s husband was the photographer).
They are
now living in Tampa where Jonathan is finishing his senior year at South
Florida University where he is getting a degree in Spanish
Literature. His plans are to continue his education, get a PH.D.
and teach at a university. Their hearts are open to God's direction
in missions, especially among Hispanics or Latin America, if that is what
He wants for them. We appreciate your prayers for them as they
build their lives together honoring the Lord in their marriage and
outreach. Please pray that Susana may find a stable job in the
Tampa area (she has had a part time job in the last month).
4. From July 29-August 6 Daniel went to the Cayman
Islands on a missions trip. It was an enriching experience for him
as he was in charge of a group of children, leading them in music, games,
and Bible story dynamics. It was obvious that he loved the children
he was in charge of and wants to go back this coming summer.
He was amazed to see how God supplied through you and the money he had
time to work for, the exact amount he needed for the trip. Thank
you for your response to his need and encouragement. As you pray
for Daniel, pray that he may grow in His love and walk with God and
become an "A" student spiritually, just as he is
academically. Also pray that he may gain full recovery from an
elbow injury he sustained last year.
5. Another bit of important family news is that Janette and Joe
are expecting their first child late January 2007. We will
be grandparents!. Robyn, Daniel, and I are going to Houston to
spend Christmas with them and "Grandma" is trying to see how we
can plan some trips in 2007 to enjoy our new granddaughter. You can
see her on their blog by pressing:

. Please pray for a healthy pregnancy and birth.
6. Robyn has had 5 recurring hemorrhages in the
vitreous part of her left eye over the past three years. "Vitreous
hemorrhage is a condition of intraocular (inside the eye) bleeding that
usually presents with sudden vision loss, frequently with complaints of
floaters or "spots" in the vision. The condition is not due to
bleeding of the vitreous humor, but rather bleeding from the retinal
vessels or underlying choroid (layer of capillaries beneath the
retina)". This has happened to Robyn approximately every 4
months. Her eye sight becomes blurred for approximately two weeks
while it slowly travels down the vitreous cavity and gets absorbed
out. Please pray that these hemorrhages may stop and/or that we may
know what decision to make regarding surgery.
7. I want to keep this E-mail as family news and will report about our
ministry in the following E-mails. I will send you a more detailed
report of our trip to Chile next week. This trip was
May 11-29. I participated in a friend´s wedding, a baptism, an
ordination, and a Flet course. You can see a video of a class in
Chile by pressing on the following link:

.
8. Please pray for our financial needs - we are short $500 per
month. Also, please change your address books for our home E-mail
to rrcrane@comcast.net (eliminate rrcrane@adelphia.net).
Thank you very much for your prayers and support.
In His loving care,
Richard, Robyn, and Daniel (our nest is becoming smaller :( !!)
