Growing up as a half-Peruvian, second generation missionary kid to Huanta, Peru, Nathaniel knew from a young age that he was called to return to the Andes Mountains and minister to the Hinterland people of his country.
Alicia grew up in Tacoma, Washington, and met Nathaniel at Covenant College. A week after graduating from Covenant in May 2005 - Alicia with a B.A. in English and literature and Nathaniel with a B.A. in biblical and theological studies - they were married. During their first years of marriage, Nathaniel and Alicia worked with MTW for one year as interns in Hispanic youth ministry development and then four years in church planting.
In 2010 Nathaniel received his M.Div. from Westminster Seminary in California.
Nathaniel and Alicia will serve as church planters in Huanta, Peru and minister to the unreached Spanish and quechua speaking people in the Hinterlands. Their hope is to seek and theologically train ntional leaders to work toward a church planting movement, bringing Peruvians to Christ throughout the Andes.

June 2004 - Visit to Ruben and Eliseo's Minisitries
Nathaniel Gutierrez put this slide show together from a few photos taken during a nine hour trip into the mountains to visit to Ruben and Eliseo's ministries. They are two young men from their orphanage. You will see that the Lord is working powerfully in the mountains!
