John and Sue Burch #10530
John and Sue Burch joined MTW in 1989, serving in Brisbane, Australia until 2004 and as part of the Spiritual Life Department team since then. The Burches will now be providing pastoral care for the MTW missionaries in Asia. They will travel there on a regular basis to minister to those who work in that area.
They will also serve MTW as part of the International Leadership Development Program (IDLP) IDLP is based in San Juan, Puerto Rico and offers mentored hands-on ministry experience in a cross-cultural setting. The program trains individuals who feel called to the mission field worldwide by strategically inserting them into a greenhouse environment as a catalyst for rapid yet enduring growth. The students gain experience in church planting, campus ministry, or community ministry, while studying for either a certificate or masters in missiology.
John will be teaching seminary-level courses and the Living in Grace curriculum as part of the program of studies. Both John and Sue will mentor the missionary students and be involved in the church-planting effort. As they go to different fields around the world, ILDP students will join them for further exposure to other cultures.
