Prayer Update from Waldeckers
At the end of April I will be attending a meeting in South America
with the MTW Latin American leadership team. Please pray for our
safety, as the place we are going to meet is not very safe, and that
we will be able to encourage the local leadership.
I will also be going to Chile for the graduation of the first
graduate of the leadership training program we started there a few
years ago. I'm not sure yet about the date for this. We are
encouraged with the progress of this first graduate, whose name is
Pancho. Under our supervision, he is currently ministering in a
church plant in Santiago. Pray for his future ministry. Pray also for
the other participants in the training program.
Last August I went to Monterrey, Mexico, to help initiate a similar
training program in that area. Pray for Rodney Davila (missionary in
Chile) who will be traveling to Mexico shortly to help them with the
next steps.
I have been asked to present seminars at the MTW Summer Conference in
July, and also at the Global Missions Conference in November. Please
pray for me even now as I choose topics and prepare.
I have been in this doctoral program in Organizational and Human
Development for two years now. Comprehensive exams will be April 6
and 9. On April 6 I will be taking oral exams. This is done in a
group format. They want to see that we know the material, and also
that we can work together as a group. The group I'm in has 6 people.
On April 9 I will be taking the written exams. This is an individual
effort. I will have to answer six questions, one each in the
following areas: Leadership, Organizational Learning, Adult Learning,
Change in Organizations, Organizational and National Culture, and
Research. Please pray for me as I prepare and as I take the exams.
After that I will be focusing on finishing this semester (ends May 8)
and on the dissertation. I'm looking forward to fininshing this
semester because after that I will have more flexibility in making
trips to Latin America.
Please also pray for Micah and Seth as they finish up their semester
at Covenant College. Andrea just turned 18 on Wednesday, and she has
been accepted at Covenant for the fall.
