Thank you for your prayers about my trip to Atlanta and Bogota. Of the three pastoral candidates we examined in Colombia, one passed. This was Javier, the man our MTW personnel have been training. The other two come to us from another Presbyterian denominiation -- one that has been affected by liberation theology. They left the denomination because of this influence. It appears to me, however, that they didn't realize how seriously we take the words of Scripture. We recommended they study more and be examined again at a furture date.
Today, June 19, is a holiday in Chile. This evening I've been invited to address 60 couples in a Pentecostal church on the subject of marriage. Please pray about this meeting.
Mark Auffarth and Larry Barker are here with us now. They were in Lima last week performing jazz concerts and giving their testimony, and now they are doing the same here in Santiago and in Vina del Mar. Pray for the effectiveness of their ministry, and for their families back home who are missing them.
This Friday Phyllis and I will be traveling to Quito and Guayaquil. Please pray for our ministry in these places.
Please continue to pray about the deficit in our support account.
Thank you for your encouragement and for supporting us in this ministry.
