Greetings to all of you from Osorno.
Twice now in our four years here God has sent someone from outside Osorno to help during extended and critical times. The first was John Rug who came down once a month from Viña del Mar to help lead us through a very difficult year. The second are Dan and Jan Jenny who were loaned to us from Gospel Fellowship in Valencia, PA, and have been here now for almost seven months. They arrived at a time when we as a ministry team were in dire need of a little wind beneath our wings. They came with much enthusiasm, a willingness to serve in any area of ministry needed and with a plan to teach English as a second language, work with the youth, and help at the local girls home. We have seen God open doors through their ministry with both Chileans as well as native English speakers. The support they lent to the ministry in our three month absence was a huge relief to us. And their care of our home and our four-legged children reminded us of how God’s care extends even to our furry creatures. Sadly, it is now time for them to return home to a son about to get married, a daughter about to buy a house, to other friends and family and to Tex, Jan’s horse. Their departure will no doubt be sweet for those back home who have missed them. But their lives have touched many here who will now feel their absence.
Dan and Jan are traveling TODAY – Tuesday, March 31. Please remember them in prayer as they travel and as they transition back home and us as we transition to life without them. And please pray that we as a church would be able to continue to reach out to the people they have met who have shown an interest in English and in the Bible.
