Dear Family and Friends,
Grace and peace to you
all.
When I heard the announcement the
Sunday before Mother's Day that the men of the church were putting a breakfast
on for the moms, I was shocked. I always know what's going on in the
church, but I knew nothing about this. What's more, from that point on, I
wasn't asked to do ANYTHING to help with this event. Not too long
ago, we had almost no men in the church. A small group of men planned the
event, a larger group of men made their payment to help fund the event, a still
larger group stood behind the women to watch us eat =) and to lend a helping
hand when needed. Twenty plates were set and twenty women came! Two
men washed most of the dishes after the event without being asked to do
so! There was quite a spirit of cooperation. And the women, young
and old, marveled at what we were witnessing.
You may ask yourself why I am
taking up your time talking about men washing dishes and such, but for a church
like ours that has not been healthy for so long, these were precious
moments. I'm still soaring.
Speaking of a spirit of unity, we
wanted to thank all of you who prayed for the miracle of a
joyous presbytery meeting. God answered that prayer!!! They
dealt with some hard issues and they worshiped God together. Thank you all
so much for your prayers for the ministry here. God is good in ALL
circumstances, but it sure is nice to be flying in a passenger plane with the
wind behind us for a while.
Blessings to you
all,
Marilyn for the
