Dear Family and Friends,

It has been a privilege to be back in the US for these few months. Time has flown and there still remains much to do before our departure in a week and a half on February 27. We have not properly thanked each one of you who have lavished us with love and kindness as we would have liked to, but please know we are grateful to each of you. And then there are many of you who we have wanted to see, but unfortunately have not been able to. Though this time has not been truly restful, it has been a break in our routine and we have been loved on, prayed for and in a sense recharged by the wonderful teaching and preaching we have been able to hear during our visit.

Just as we arrive in Osorno, our Chilean pastor Alex and his wife Patty will be leaving to come to the US for the month of March. We hope their time here will give them much needed rest, as they tend to go like gangbusters most of the time. They will be visiting with several churches who have sent teams and/or given financial support to Osorno. This means that back in Chile, we will be looked upon to lead things in their absence. Being the kind of person that likes to eaaaaase into things, the knowledge of this results in me clenching my teeth at night. Though we are ready to return, it's the thought of jumping in at church head first on top of running around buying school uniforms, supplies, reconnecting house phone, cell phones, internet, etc. that is a bit daunting. If you think of us, please pray for rest for Alex and Patty and pray for us as life really won't normalize for about another 6-8 weeks. Pray that the gospel would be evident in our actions and in our inner lives. We have been and tend to be snippy in times of high stress. May God's grace and peace continue to do its transforming work in us all.
