Dear Family and Friends,

Holiday greetings to everyone from down south in Osorno, Chile. Greg here this time. This is definitely the time of year to hear "I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas," like when I was strolling through the downtown Osorno plaza recently. There was this neat little band playing in the gazebo beside the water fountain with the Christmas tree in it. The next tune was "Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer."

The only thing kind of odd about this scenario was the warmth of the day, plus the fact that the days are getting a lot longer. When you’re used to Christmas in the Northern Hemisphere, it takes a few Christmases to get used to a Southern Hemisphere Christmas, or an "Upside Down Christmas," as one New Zealand Christmas carol is named. Here are a couple stanzas to enjoy:

Carol our Christmas, an upside down Christmas;
The snow is not falling and trees are not bare.
Carol the summer, and welcome the Christ Child,
Warm in our sunshine and sweetness of air.

Sing of the gold and the green and the sparkle,
Water and river and lure of the beach.
Sing in the happiness of open spaces,
Sing a nativity summer can reach!

During this precious time of the year, we have thought much of you all, our wonderful team of supporters. As we’ve said before, we’ll say again - we wouldn’t be here in Chile without your prayers, your finances, and your encouragement (a special thanks to those who have sent us Christmas cards). May our Lord bless you and your loved ones in a very special way this Christmas and holiday season.

We’ll plan to send an update soon after the holiday rush with some ministry details, but until then, we’re keeping you in our thoughts and prayers,........... and we’ll just keep on dreaming of a white Christmas down here in sunny, warm southern Chile.
