David & Danielle Grotton’s Update [Grottons in Chile] GREAT News!! Dear supporters, We have some wonderful news to share with you! We will be leaving Lord willing by the end of July to begin serving the Lord in Chile! We are very excited about this and want to share with you some important information and a few changes that have made this possible. We view these changes as very positive and pray you will also. The biggest change is rather than serve a two-year term as “short-term” missionaries, we will be serving as “salaried interns” going for a maximum term of eleven months. There are many factors that are responsible for this change and it seems as if the Lord has been leading us in this direction for awhile -- we needed to catch up to Him! We had been praying about this, not knowing if this change in term length was possible. Only when John Rug, our team leader, brought it up during a recent skype call did the pieces start to fall into place. Thanks to John and Mission to the World’s flexibility, they worked out the details to make this happen. MTW wants this to be a very positive experience for all, which includes us as the missionaries and you - the prayer and financial partners - who make it possible. Serving as interns will allow us to get to Chile as soon as the end of July. We will be able to dive into the work and gain valuable experience. After our time as interns in Chile, we anticipate knowing more about where the Lord will direct us next – back to Chile as “career” missionaries, to seminary for David, or to another ministry altogether. Our deepest desire has been and continues to be that we are obedient servants of Jesus Christ, whatever that looks like. So, what does this mean for you as a prayer partner and/or financial supporter? Well, first we ask you to continue on with us in this journey of faith! We need prayers for the many things that must be accomplished in the next two months as we get ready for our departure. Secondly, to those who have given so generously over the past three years – you are a big part of why we are able to go to the field now, since there is a sufficient amount in our support account to go for at least five months. That’s even if we don’t receive another dollar! So thank you! Third, we would ask that those who have pledged for regular support, please plan to begin sending in your contributions as soon as possible. Finally, for those who are able, we are still in need of one-time gifts. Each gift will be factored in to our total monthly expenses, so a gift of any amount makes a difference and will enable us to remain in Chile for up to eleven months. As always, all gifts are tax-deductible. Would you consider telling your friends and family about this ministry to the differently enabled in Chile? We appreciate all of your support during this faith-stretching and surprising journey of walking with Jesus. And the best part, He is not done with us (or with you) yet! He has much in store for all of us and we are eager to see how He will use us, teach us and mold us in Chile.
